What Is New This Year For The 2014 George Washington Birthday Fundraising Gala?
The Musical Entertainment
We are very excited to announce the Ben Stocker Quartet as our musical entertainment. All four of these young musicians recently received Gold Coast Jazz Society Summer Scholarships to travel to Port Townsend, Washington, where they are going to participate in the International Centrum Jazz Workshop. They also are very active in the community, working regularly with younger music students in their school; and, they spend their summers volunteering at the Dillard Center for Arts Jazz camp where they mentor future musicians.This group from the Dillard School of the Performing Arts is fantastic! A must see!! Highly recommended by everyone, including the Miami Jazz Cooperative's Rick Katz.
The Venue
This year the gala will be at the Gallery ONE DoubleTree by Hilton in Fort Lauderdale. This beautiful venue is conveniently located on the gorgeous Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal.
The Special Guests of Honor
This year we are having the George Washington Honor Medal Ceremony during dinner. These honorees are sure to move your Patriotic spirit!
The Photos
This year we are having a photographer who will be taking photos and developing them onsite, so that you can make a donation to The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge Broward Chapter & then take home a lovely photo for you to always remember the 2014 Gala!
